9 Easy Recipes to Try for April!

You wouldn’t believe that some of the flavour profiles in some of the recipes below actually works - and yes, they are all tested (and enjoyed) in our kitchen!

We’re moving on from the Ketchup and Mustard Cake of last year.

Recipe 1: Tuna & Raisin Macaroni Salad

1 tin tuna in spring water

4 tbsp mayonnaise

Salt and pepper to taste

1 stalk celery, chopped (optional)

1 tsp English mustard

200g cooked macaroni pasta

50g raisins (add more if preferred)

Bed of lettuce for serving (optional)


1. Place tuna, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and celery in a bowl and mix together. Add chopped celery and mix further.

2. Mix in cooked macaroni and raisins. Coat well. Serve chilled, in a bed of lettuce.


Recipe 2: Easy Mac & Cheese with Curry Powder


2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp plain flour

120 semi skimmed milk

50g grated cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp curry powder

200 cooked macaroni pasta

Chopped fresh celery to garnish (optional - or use dried chopped parsley)

Frankfurter slices (optional extra garnish)


1. In a non-stick pan on medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and mix into a paste.

2. Add milk and mix further. Add grated cheese. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk. Season to taste.

3. Add curry powder and mix further.

4. Toss cooked macaroni pasta and chopped parsley.

5. Serve with sliced Frankfurters (optional)

Recipe 3: Peanut Butter, Feta, and Tomato Bruschetta

Make as many as you like, just prepare the ff:

Sliced baguette (1cm thick, semi-toasted)

Smooth peanut butter

Feta cheese cubes or cream cheese

Chopped tomatoes

Reduced balsamic vinegar glaze

Chopped fresh celery to garnish (optional - or use dried chopped parsley)

NOTE: To make, spread peanut butter over sliced baguette. Dress with cheese, tomatoes, and drizzle reduced balsamic vinegar glaze. Seasoning and chopped off parsley to finish is optional.


Recipe 4: Instant Noodle Peanut Butter Ramen

NOTE: Cook your favourite instant noodle as normal and add a tablespoon of smooth peanut butter to it. Serve with protein of your choice and a semi-soft boiled egg!

Recipe 5: Peanut Butter, Gherkin, and Cheese Sandwich

NOTE: Spread peanut butter on both sides and sandwich in sliced gherkins and cheese in between. Serve with portion of crisps!


Recipe 6: Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Crisps Sandwich

NOTE: Make PBJ sandwich 🥪 as normal (use jam or jelly)- and add your salty crisps in between. Serve with an extra portion of crisps!


Recipe 7: Ready to Serve Custard - use as dip.

NOTE: Yes you read that right: tinned custard as dip is a thing! Dip your favourite crisps into that creamy custard for that sweet and salty kick!


Recipe 8: Cola Float

NOTE: Simply add your choice of your favourite cola drink to a tall glass filled with scoops of vanilla ice cream. Prepare for a sweet brain freeze!


Recipe 9: Vanilla Ice Cream with Balsamic Vinegar Glaze

NOTE: Simply add reduced balsamic vinegar glaze to your bowl of vanilla ice cream and enjoy with salty chips (deep fried is the best - oven chips are boring) and chicken nuggets. It’s another sweet and salty treat!
